It was fantastic to be back at the Greek theatre in Los Angeles. We last played here on the Brothers in arms tour. A truly beautiful venue both scenically and with it’s facilities.

We had a little surprise in store for the audience. Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne both agreed to come along and help out. Jackson joined us and duetted with Mark on Sailing to Philadelphia. Bonnie came onstage and played beautifully haunting slide guitar on Prairie Wedding. She sang a high vocal harmony in the chorus which prompted a venue-wide ‘goosebump’ reaction. Mark asked her to hang around for the evening’s rendition of Pyro Man and indeed she thrilled one and all with her unique slide-work. It was a real treat for the band and crowd.

I’m writing this on my balcony overlooking the beach at Santa Monica, believe it or not, watching my wife, Laura, surfing. I’d say it’s about 3-4ft,a bit mushy but she doesn’t care. This is her home town and she couldn’t resist coming out and joining us for a few days. Just thought I’d share that with you……
