Hardly ever write reviews but let’s say this is more like sharing an experience …
I’m not a fan of streaming music so never actually thought of listening to the album before purchasing. I only listened to what was available on Guy’s website.
Man, what a surprise it was when I got the album in 96k. Firstly, the sound quality is amazing ! This reminds me of the joy I was feeling in my youth listening to tapes, vinyls etc… it sounds very organic, musical, high dynamic range (you hardly get that nowadays unfortunately), I was that same kid who would spend an entire day listening to music with headphones on my dad’s stereo.
Anomaly is like a Delorean taking you back to the future … it’s modern, very surprising, adventurous and yet very familiar, with reminiscences from the past. The best of both worlds.
I was very surprised by Guy’s freedom and generosity. It was like going on a journey in a very colourful world and never wanting to leave this beautiful place.
I felt home immediately, with influences that I have shared since I first started to listen to music.
I won’t be able to name all of them but here and there, some sounded obvious to me, Fleetwood Mac, Glenn Frey, David Gilmour, Pink Floyd …
I don’t want to spoil the fun of discovering by yourself so I won’t say anything more except this …
Buying this album was one of the best things I did lately and it will accompany me for a long time, knowing that I have found something unvaluable, an unpolished diamond that helps you connect with you inner self, the kid who could be marvelled by the beauty of the world.
