Sad news
I have a sad announcement to make. The great Chet Atkins died yesterday morning. Obviously we are all deeply saddened by the news as we all knew him and loved him tremendously. We all know for sure that wherever he is now, he’ll be happily pickin’ his guitar. Rest in peace Chet.

This picture was taken in Nashville in June 1998 during the early STP sessions.

Mark asked me to put these few words up here……
Chet was a great musician but more than that, he was a great person and a good friend. I treasure the times we had together, the hours spent listening to him playing or telling his jokes and stories. I’m thankful for that and I’ll miss him along with so many others who knew him, fellow musicians or otherwise. He did so much for music and so much for so many people.

Chuck’n’me
This one’s to show that we’re not all ‘gloom and doom’ after the sad news of Chet’s passing. He’s in a better place.

Chuck Ainlay (shown with me in the bus at Barcelona airport) is here with us for a few days as visible proof that we ARE recording the Madrid show, and possibly Bilbao also. Chuck, who engineered and produced the STP album will ensure the recording is made to the high standards all you folk expect from us.

Lisbon gig
This is the colourful Pavilhao Multius Atlantic arena here in Lisbon. You may be able to make out the delightful wooden slatted roof. This venue was only built 3 years ago and utilises a delightful coloured seating scheme.
