a message from Dan..

For those who are interested in my drums here is a photo of me at sound check in Berlin taken by Mike Humeniuk. The kit is a "Sonor Designer" set which I've had a few years. The shells are Maple and the outer veneer is of "Bubinga" which is an African hardwood. This particular type I believe, has been superseded by a newer model, the "SQ" I had thought about getting a Crimson "SQ" set built for this tour but by the time I'd thought of it, it was too late for the drums to be ready in time. In any case I'm so happy with they way the drums sound what would be the point other than decorative? The cymbals are Zildjian, mostly dark K's and the hihats are 15" "New Beats". I had been using "Armand" hi hats on the blues gigs that I did with Guy and came close to using those on the tour but in the end the 15's proved irresistible as they are so solid and the sound is very consistent. I'm always experimenting with different tom tom size combinations but once again on the blues gigs 13" & 16" proved favourite and now with a 14" stuck in the middle for wider pitch intervals, that's basically what I went for. I also have a 2nd snare drum which works well when playing fills and it can be stereo panned in a very interesting way to create movement as well as tonal variation. My main snare is 14" x 6.5 inches snare 2 is 14" x 5". I hope that I'm delivering the goods for you all? I'm certainly having a wonderful time trying to....It's an immense thrill working with this wonderful band and for such a special artist, much love to all........DC xxx

'Folkshag' in fine form at today's meet and greet.

Mr. Saggers caught having a cup of tea in the sun. He confessed it was the lighting truck but the only one open.

Readers of a nervous disposition may wish not to view the following photo as Cod and Peter express their disgust that the wild Boar isn't on the menu tonight.
