As the tour progresses we all drift into our daily routines and after morning tea yesterday it was another big swim for me in the hotel pool. Thankfully we've enjoyed a pool at pretty much every hotel. Afterwards I noticed Richard outside in his 'Zen' garden soaking up the sun. It would have been churlish not to join him. After half an hour or so it was back up to the room to devour breakfast (ordered 2 hours proir) of delightful Bircher Meusli and coffee whilst writing the diary and attending to email. At 2:15 the phone rings and it's Pete, "will you be joining the band today"? he asks. I had convinced myself it was a 2:30 departure so a mad scramble and I'm downstairs in 2 minutes. I walk out the front of the hotel to a huge round of applause from all and sundry. Without further ado, we're off to nearby Frankfurt airport and board the jet for Hamburg. An hour later we're arriving at the venue...

The Colour Line arena is how all modern arenas should be. Well designed, accommodating and acoustically sound. Always a great gig here in Hamburg and once again we're sold out. There's a lot of guitar strings on the stage which inevitably means a lot of tuning and John is pictured herepreparing one of his two delightful citterns. As you can see, each one has 10 strings. No mean feat then.

A thousand miles of Russian roads meant that there were several bits of gear that took the brunt of a bit of shaking and my Fender Twin suffered a few setbacks. Glenn had the back off it and was making it good.

Angus cuts into a huge, beautiful Red Snapper, one of the three main courses on the dinner menu tonight along with roast chicken and rib of beef. I heard rumours that There's wild Boar on the menu tomorrow....
