Everyone woke this morning with the music of last night's after-show session in my room still reverberating in their heads. The best DJ session of the tour so far methinks. (playlist below).  A leisurely drive through Berlin and past parts of what remains of the old wall towards Schoenfeld airport.

Driving through old-Eastern Berlin on a Sunday is a far cry from the hectic pace of Paris or Stockholm, and we arrive at the gate (or gat) completely relaxed on what is a quite beautiful day. Another perfect flying day.

Gunther and his team of drivers (Ike and Bob) collect us in Frankfurt and are able to come air-side.

The Festhalle was built in 1909 and at the time, with it's 40 metre high glass roof was the largest domed structure in Europe. Primarily designed for speeches and concerts, the acoustics of the room are tested with anything like a PA of the size we carry. Sound-check was louder than usual due to the acoustics but as soon as we hit the stage for the show, everything seemed to iron itself out and the band enjoyed the gig immensely.

The run-round of my rig L-R Lawrence, Hammond B3 and Nord2, Trinity plus and Korg SG-1D, Yamaha 01V mixer, Akai MPC2000 and Akai S6000, Leslie cabinet for B3 and Roland JD800 on top and finally the Telecaster I use for Why Aye Man with John Suhr built Fender twin amp.
