What a day of contrasts. It all started in a hot, humid, stormy New York. To someone like me, the forecast was exciting, not so for anyone attempting to fly out of any of the main airports today as a weather system rolled in during the late morning from the west and it soon became apparent that it was a little extraordinary. The weather channel followed it with customary verve and accuracy with live radar, lightening details and tornadic announcements for areas to the east of Philadelphia. Pretty soon the airport delays were up on the screen and they went from 30 minutes to 6 hours and eventually JFK simply shut down. Bad news for some of our families who were relocating to Miami today whilst we flew to Charlotte to do the show. Laurie and my boys were fortunate to have booked an early departure. Lucky for us in the band too as we were flying out of Teterboro and by the time we were all aboard the Legacy the delays weren't too bad and the worst of the weather had passed.

It was only a one and a half hour flight down to North Carolina and we were whisked to the gig by a very competent team of drivers. At the gig, we did the usual stuff..Danny and I went for a wander and chatted to some folks. I had guests here tonight, the Soundseat guys are from this area. They make the keyboard chairs/stools that we're currently raving about. Check them out, they're simple, light, very comfy and strong.

This is Bear, one of the two US truck drivers...a thoroughly nice chap who hails from Nashville.

Another fabulous show and a great sounding hall. We were soon off on the jet bound for Miami and what a contrast. Very hot once again and a suitably sumptuous hotel for our final stay on the tour. I really can't believe we only have 3 more shows to do. We're all gonna make the most of the day off tomorrow!
