What a fabulous day this turned out to be. Another one of our favourite venues,
the Boston pavillion is very close to the centre of the city and being on the
waterside enjoys the occasional salty breeze. This was much appreciated as
the daytime temperatures here are pretty extreme at the moment. Luckily the
rain stayed away as the last time we played here, with Emmylou they closed
the sides of the 'tent' and that had the adverse effect of making the sound
inside quite tricky. As it was the sound was great. we did a meet and greet
today and it was great to see Richard and Christina Ford, our friends
from Boothbay harbour who came down to see the show. Thanks to Mark and Steve
for bringing down some of the finest, freshest lobster. We tucked into lobster
sandwiches at the after-show soiree in my room. Absolutely delicious.
Here's me with my new pal Glenn Close. Glenn is clearly a fan and an extremely
lovely lady, it was a real treat to say hi and meet her family, most of whom
are into windsurfing!

Outside Yankee Lobster, Danny narrowly avoids a confrontation with the local lobster lout.

Here's a joke for the brits. A lobster goes into a bar and the barman, pointing at the lobster says "hey you.... out!". A guy sitting at the bar asks the barman "what was all that about?". The barman says (raising his arms in the air emulating a lobster) "I don't want him in here, givin' it all that"
Speaking of Lobster, I was rather hoping there would be clam chowder on the backstage catering menu, but there wasn't. The crew had some at lunchtime. So I decided to nip out to the Yankee lobster just outside the venue and see if I could get some. I was successful in my quest and met up with Johnny hotpants, Ewan and Mike from the crew who had the same idea. It took awhile to come as it was so crowded but it was worth the wait.

Jason sits in the seats close to the stage during sound check with his remote computer with which he can finely tune the PA. He comes to the rescue on many occasions, for example during the show in Kettering there was a rather extreme bass resonance down-stage. I signalled to Kerry that there was an issue and Jason wandered around the venue and found the offending frequency and dialed it out of the relevant part of the system. Within two songs we were back to normal. Quite incredible really as we used to just grin and bear it before this technology existed.

A backstage poster that Mark signed and is die to be auctioned off for charity.
