We arrived in the beautiful city of Zurich to a much appreciated day off. A few band members are still reeling from a gastro-bug but fingers crossed we should be back up to full strength in a few days. I was looking forward to getting out and doing some shopping but the shops were closed as our visit here coincided with the two day 'Sechsilauten' festival. Every year the guilds and townsfolk of Zurich celebrate this traditional spring festival with gusto. The celebrations culminate on Monday at 6:00pm when a big white snowman called 'Boogg' is burned in a ceremony not entirely dissimilar to a British Guy Fawkes bonfire. 'Tis said that the faster Boogg's head explodes, the warmer and sunnier the upcoming summer will be. It seemed to go up pretty quickly as we watched the televised event from backstage catering. A brief mention must be given to the fabulous restaurant some of us visited on the day off, Il Tartufo.

Mark, Glenn, Danny, Peter and myself wandered the streets in the sunshine during the Sunday parade.
