Show day number 13 and the sixth show in a row today we found ourselves in Erfurt, lying exactly between Dortmund and Dresden and equidistant from Frankfurt and Berlin it is pretty much right in the heart of modern Germany. Of course before reunification in 1990 Erfurt was part of East Germany and because of very limited damage during the war years remains a beautifully preserved medieval city. Not that we ever get to find out  as we never seem to stay in the town and today was no exception. We flew in from Frankfurt for sound check and a very tight schedule after show to get to the airport and on the plane bound for Zurich for tomorrow's day off.

Our Embrair Legacy seats 13, produces nearly 19,000 lbs of thrust from the two Rolls Royce turbofans and on the rare occasions the pilot gives it some 'welly' it really shifts.

Steve Ricalis in catering celebrates his birthday today with the cheesiest of grins.

Danny and Mark luxuriate just before the show

The crew buses are kitted out with satellite TV so on when time permits it's possible to watch the footy.

The view out of the dressing room window reveals the four trucks which transport everything across Europe.

Shaun Farbon works on the sound crew with Dave Dixon and can be found over on stage-left monitoring the PA amplifier array as well as roaming the venue checking the sound. Each rack accommodates twelve 3,000 watt amps and there are six racks. That's nearly a quarter of a million watts!!!, except that it doesn't quite work out like that as Dave Dixon explained to me this afternoon.

Kerry lays out the in-ear monitors in their cases in the dressing room before the show.
