As we drove towards Teterboro this afternoon. I noticed the wind was increasing. I found myself focusing on the tops of the trees alongside the road, a legacy of all the years I've spent staring at exposed treetops to estimate the EXACT wind velocity and direction for windsurfing purposes. Secretly, I get mildly excited if we happen to pass any open body of water as I find I can judge the wind speed accurately to within a few knots. We left the hotel a little later than usual as Mark was having some acupuncture treatment and as I know all too well, after a treatment, the best thing you can do is lie down and relax for a good few hours. I had suggested last night that we should not do a sound check and it was agreed upon. I think Mark benefited from the extra time as he was in great spirits today. The flight down the New Jersey coast was exactly as predicted....BUMPY. Dianne had difficulty serving the sushi but managed admirably using her inbuilt gyroscopic auto-balancing system. We all looked on in awe. Pete actually came up front to help, a brave move. We made it in one piece and Steve our British pilot threw the Legacy down onto the runway with bold confidence. Into the 3 waiting SUV's and soon we saw the city on the New Jersey shoreline.

I recall visiting a while back but none of the images I remember were apparent. The city, well this part, seems completely rebuilt.

The thought of another casino style venue was not exactly filling us with insurmountable excitement but the staff backstage at Caesars in Atlantic City were a delight. I was looking around for a tripod as I thought this evening Danny should interview Bo. I asked a stage hand and within minutes he produced the perfect device for the brief loan. We conducted the two camera interview and when Bo and Pieta took to the stage, I ran out armed with the camera to get some live footage. I'm looking forward to editing it all back at home...in 2 days!!

The show itself was strange. The room was as dead as a padded cell, acoustically, and I found myself struggling with my in ear mix a little. It just lacked ambience. The crowd too were unusual as the first few rows appeared to be filled with folks who were there for maybe a weekend break and not necessarily MK fans and a lot of them kept wondering off for drinks or maybe a quick go on the slots..who knows? I have to say though, by the end they were all on their feet applauding and smiling. We had clearly won them over. Mark was magnificent once again and you could forget he was still in a fair amount of pain.

Another, bumpier flight home to NYC and Dianne served up some buffalo wings. My favourite! This time the journey to the Peninsula was painless and we were all tucked up in bed by 1am.
