You'll know by now that every now and then, Danny and I have been known to spend a few hours on a tennis court. Danny has improved his game incredibly in the last 6 months and part of this is due to his online coaching and subscription to fuzzyyellowballs.com. Danny has been a regular contributor to their site and today we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Will Hamilton, its co-founder and head coach.

Will founded FYB in early 2007 with Adam Sieminski, the tech genius behind the team. Will was on Davidson College's tennis team.  After graduating he worked at the Tennis Center at College Park, MD, a high-performance training facility that has produced some of the top American juniors in the world.  He left the Tennis Center in 2006 and began formulating his ideas for FYB,  after watching some instructional videos on Youtube, he figured he could do better. Their worldwide audience is about 500,000 people / month with videos being watched between 1 - 2 million times per month. If you like tennis, it's a must.

The Warner Theatre in Washington DC is another lovely theatre venue albeit a little tired around the edges. As we were driven in from the airport, we passed signs to Wolf Trap, the venue for the last tour and felt a slight pang of regret that we weren't playing there again. We easily could have since the temperature today was 91F. Very hot and muggy for early May I thought.

Paul and Danny kiss and make up at least once a day..

This teddy is not a happy teddy. I spent a while looking for the keys to the cabinet as I wanted to free him.

Here we have the boxes (actually tuners) that are used by Mr. Saggers to mute the acoustic guitars that he hands to Mark. He then runs back after the switch to unmute.

The old Krug Trinity, STILL in operation..just

We delayed soundcheck a little bit as Mark had arranged to see a therapist for his leg problem. We're all hoping to see an improvement soon and I'm confident he'll be back doing his high jumps and kick-flips soon. He was still on the stool for the show but you'd never have known anything was wrong as he played magnificently...as did the band, even though this show was the sixth in a row and the tiredness is creeping in. What happens when you get tired onstage is that your mind can wander off at short notice resulting in potentially catastrophic 'greenies'(especially during TR) The concentration levels required for this show mean you can't afford to it that happen, so we pay particular attention to the pre-show warm-up procedure, the tea and the singing and the stretches.  As the end of the show approached you could feel the band relaxing into the day off. So Far Away was pretty funny as concentration levels monetarily abandoned some of us. Then it was into our farewell tune and the audience sat down and during the second verse I gazed around the staring faces whose eyes were absolutely fixed on Mark as he sang the beautiful lament.
