The days off seem to be coming thick and fast now and the day off after the Prague show was spent in Prague. Tennis was definitely on the agenda; Dan sourced the club, and what a club. With an 8,000 seat stadium, the Prague lawn tennis club is the the home of the ECM Prague open, an annual event on the WTA tour and the ATP Challenger series. We played on one of the luxurious clay courts surrounding the main stadium. Pete came along and displayed his natural tendency to coach myself and Dan, and I can tell you, we need it. We had fun in the sun and Eike was there to take us back to the hotel after getting completely lost as the sat-nav had no idea about Prague. There was just enough time for a freshen up and a speed-nap before those who could bear to, met in the basement bar of the Augustine to watch the England - Germany match on a big screen. Well done Germany, is all I have to say on the matter. A very relaxed band dinner in a fabulous local restaurant called U Modre Kachnicky, ironically situated next door to the Mandarin hotel which is where we stayed last tour. Traditional Czech meat dishes with many different kinds of dumplings were on offer and all were enjoyed. The perfect way to round off a recharging day off. Early to bed for all.

Europe this week seems to be in the grip of a much anticipated heatwave. The weather for the past few days has been spectacular over most of Europe and today's travel takes us from Prague in a West-Northwesterly direction to Amsterdam. Saying goodbye to possibly one of the top 3 hotels of all, we were driven by Gunther and his team back to Prague airport and the small GA terminal.

Aboard the plane once again, a swift but delicious lunch courtesy of Daniella and we were coming into a heat-hazy Schipol before we knew it. Bernie's team greeted us on the tarmac, it's great when this happens, and we drove directly to the Heineken music hall whilst Peter escorted our baggage to the Grand hotel in the centre of town. The HMH is familiar to us all and we actually started the last tour here, a memorable couple of shows as it heralded the beginnings of the new-improved photo/video policies. Tonight's crowd really illustrated to me how successful the policy change and the fans' respect for it (and us) has been. I don't think I saw a single video recording device all evening, as opposed to two years ago when it seemed the whole audience was recording us. A great show and two more to come.
