page 9 - Sydney - Enmore theatre - March 15th

There's nothing quite like the sun setting on the opera house.

tonight's gig

The Enmore theatre was a late addition to the tour itinerary, thought of generally as 'overspill' from a sold out Entertainment Center show tomorrow. Apart from the logistical problems our crew faced due simply to our production being designed more for an arena/hall type venue, the gig was a pleasant change from what we've had so far. Don't get me wrong, everything so far has exceeded expectation. It's just that to play a show in Sydney, in a great little part of town called Newtown, very cool and laid back, in a nice old theatre with such an appreciative crowd, was pretty good! The local crew and venue management were really a pleasure to be around and were apparently extremely helpful to our guys. As you can see though, (bottom left) Adrian and Colin, were still, at 7:00pm, trying to isolate a 'hum' on the guitars. This happens every now and again and usually the problem is 'sourced' and cured way before the band show up for soundcheck. Today however, the hum in question was a little more persistent. Pretty soon afterwards, it was accepted that we'd have to live with it, although it had been substantially reduced. The guitar which it affected the most was Mark's '54 Strat so we dropped 'the trawlerman's song'.

The big man..

Mark's voice, is still on the mend but sounding much better each show.

Here's an interesting couple of pics. Mark is talking to Colin, Laurence and Matt about the logistics of the setlist for the show. In other words, how Matt and Glenn will deal with the fact that there is no access behind Matt's riser tonight due to the small stage. Without going into depth, they figured it out...you'll see if you come and see the show.

Yep, it's those pants!
