Stuttgart - Schleyerhalle - April 10th
Woke up in Germany for the first time on this tour and remembered from the many times we've stayed here that there is a swimming pool in this hotel. On with the trunks and straight down into it and did 50 lengths with hardly any effort at all. Impressive, until I tell you the pool is only 14 metres long. Ah well, the fitness IS improving. Yesterday was quite a remarkable day in terms of travel because as Mark pointed out on the jet last night on the way here after-show, we've 'done' FOUR countries in TEN hours! Left Barcelona at 2:00pm arrived in Basel 3:30pm but actually the airport was just over the border in France. Crossed into Switzerland at 4:00, did the show and flew out at 10:55pm into Germany by 11:15pm. So actually that's 9 hours 45 minutes. Certainly a record in all the touring I've done.
I actually turned down an invitation to re-visit the Porsche factory here tomorrow (I went there in 1991 with Mark, Alan and Danny)...it just brings back too many fond memories of my old car. They're still the best cars in the world though in my mind.
I enjoyed reading this translation on the Schlayerhall website today 'The Hanns-Martin-Schleyer hall is an annual scene of more than 130 happenings. More than 680 000 visitors are enthusiastic about the sporting events and Rock & Pop concerts or come to firms presentations. The seat offer passes for up to 15 000 visitors.'

Here's a close up of the two Signature Strats we have on the road with us. Serial numbers 00000 and 00001. Yep, that's MK in the reflection. He uses 00000 on stage and 01 is the spare. Richard had to use 01 the other day 'cos he usually takes his to his hotel room every night and he forgot to bring it to the show in Marseille.

Richard, Glenn and Mark comparing the actions and playability of each of the three Signature Strats.

Kerry at his Midas monitor console which is situated just off stage-right. Kerry is demonstrating the programmable memory recall facility for each song.

A final shot of the Wurlitzer as it will be going home next week. The new Hammond B3 will be there as of Amsterdam (hopefully)
