page 10 - Sydney - Entertainment Theatre - March 16th
It's been a long time since we were last here, too long. The Sydney Entertainment theatre was home to us for 23 nights in succession in 1985 on the Brothers in Arms tour. We used to do 'runners' each night 'in our own cars' and drive back to the Sebel Town house bar for the after show cocktails. It was generally accepted that the original Sebel was THE best rock'n'roll hotel in the world, whatever that means. We loved it anyway.
The crowd tonight were as warm and responsive as I always remembered Sydney being. A sell out in the Entertainment Center is a prospect to be relished. The shot here on the left was taken during a rendition of Local Hero by an old school mate of mine Mike, who now lives in Sydney.

Above is the setlist including program change numbers (from last night) which resides on my keyboard rig. It makes sense to me!

I took this picture (Below) today whilst out driving around the North beaches (and beyond) with another old mate of mine, Jeremy. He was the guitarist in my first 'proper' band. We actually spent a good few years as band-mates and songwriting partners, we even landed ourselves a publishing deal. He eventually decided he'd had enough of me and emigrated to NSW seventeen years ago... Seriously, we do keep in touch and this afternoon he took me on a sightseeing tour.

Behavioural experts will acknowledge that this bird is displaying an aggressive, protective tendancy. We were sitting having a bite to eat beside the water when the gulls started to show an interest.
We started with coffee at Balmoral beach, where Alan Clark and I once windsurfed...then we headed up through Manly and Dee Why and onto Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. This is where the Hawkesbury River meets the sea, a tight cluster of secretive, winding creeks, sheltered beaches, hidden coves and wide expanses of deep blue water. Spectacular stuff. The weather wasn't amazing but the views and the company were. A few pictoral offerings, below. Including a shot of that first band - 'Atlantis'.
this intrigued me

From a newspaper review....Atlantis - Steve is the brother of Mark Brzezicki, the drummer with Big Country.
