Tour Diary : Halle Tony Garnier, Lyon, France
Wed 27 June

TGV
The travel today was particularly pleasant. Paris to Lyon, non-stop on the new high speed TGV service. It really does make one realise the pathetic inadequacies of our own British so-called transport system. A supremely fast, quiet and comfortable ride. Here’s a pic of Chad and MK enjoying the following e-mail which was sent to Glenn this morning..

Washington Post’s Style invitational asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting or changing one letter and supply a new definition.
Here are some winners……..
Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realise it was your money to start with.
Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.
Giraffitti: Vandalism spray painted very high.
Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn’t get it.
Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.
Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.
Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (this one got extra credit)
Karmageddon: It’s like, when everybody is sending off these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the earth explodes, and it’s like, a serious bummer.
Glibido: All talk and no action.
Dopeler effect: The tendancy of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.
And the pick of the literature…
Ignoranus: A person who’s both stupid, and an asshole!

Halle Tony Garnier
The Halle Tony Garnier. This wide angle shot was taken from the dressing room window. A short hike to the stage. The show itself was great with the French fans exhibiting their total enthusiasm once again. A fantastic atmosphere as always in Lyon.

Paul Crockford update….It now seems that he has broken a small bone in his back. It is however extremely painful for him and he is still unable to walk. He therefore won’t be travelling with us today to Lyon and will probably have to spend the next week or so in bed. Get well soon PC from the band.

I’m sorry to announce that once again last night because of Paul Crockford’s absence, the security meeting didn’t take place resulting in quite a number of people being asked not to take photos. Mark has asked me to assure you that it won’t happen.

Drivers
Here’s a picture of our driving team. We have two teams of 3 drivers who utilise a’ leap-frog’ system ensuring we are always dropped off and picked up at the airport/station/hotel/venue by familiar faces. They each have a new S class Mercedes, undoubtedly THE best car ever made (except of course the 911). From Left to right Alex, Mannfred, Bernie, (Bernie’s journeys) Chris, Gunther and Vedran. Unusually, this is the only time all six of them have been together as we are currently travelling by TGV and our bags are being moved around by the drivers.
