well, as you may have guessed, I've lost track a bit of the weeks. This page should have gone up last week but as we're nearing completion of the album I seem to have been quite busy in the studio with Mark and Chuck. I'll put thes up and do a final selection of next week (promise)
a weird and wonderful mic array that assembled itself in Studio two on a backing vocal day. Danny, Mark and myself are singing the BV's. A Neumann fet47, Sony C38, 2xNeumann M50, Neumann M49, Neumann long-bodied 47, Neumann KM56 and an AKG C12 for good measure.
although not used on this album, I had to snap these two stunning Studer four-tracks lined up and ready to go on an undisclosed project. We believe they are the actual machines used at Abbey Road for the recording of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Both work well and sound as good as they did in 1967.
the two Ampex ATR 100's we are using to master to. A half inch (30ips) at the rear and the one in the foreground is a one inch! Yes, that's one inch two track.
