2007 recording diary - March 2007

a belated update to the recording diary. We're nearly there now and plan to start mixing in studio 1 in two weeks. More pics as and when I get around to it.

Mr. Saggers demonstrates why the AC15 was rattling, "it's too loud and yer valves have popped out of their sockets"..... We were recording the Gretch 6120 through the delicious Vox when a rattle was detected. All better now. Guitarists, feel free to salivate profusely at the '54 Strat in the background.

The great Frank Ricotti on Vibes. Frank came in a couple of weeks ago and played on a few tunes too.

Here's Ian Lowthian who popped down from Scotland for a couple of days to play his wonderful accordion on a few tunes. Ian also featured in the Shot at Glory sessions and soundtrack.

The beautiful M49 and long-bodied tube U47 Neumanns. These mics are simply a delight to use.

Chris White and Steve Sidwell discuss the quality of my notation during their horn session for the record. They played trumpet and Tenor Sax on two songs. For the slightly geeky amongst you the mics are M49, U47 and an old ribbon Coles 4038 in the foreground.
