Remember that ukulele I used at the meet and greets during the 2005 Shangri-La tour?

Originally purchased on e-bay in a rush to find a uke specifically for the meet and greets, it was never a great instrument and indeed it became the subject of much abuse since the damn thing never used to stay in tune! Until eventually Mark took it upon himself to buy me a Martin Ukulele when we visited the States for which I (and the band) am very grateful. So the old uke was retired to one of the wardrobe trunks where it has been until rehearsals for this tour in May.
I dug it our and after having the band sign it including Emmylou, decided it should be auctioned together with various other signed memorabilia for charity.

The auction was hosted on -bay

Thanks for bidding!

Every year over 300 children are bereaved in West Sussex.

In 2004, the West Sussex Children’s Bereavement Project Group started to recognize an overwhelming need for a service supporting bereaved children and their families in our county and, following meetings with key people including the County Council, Police, Social Services and other organizations the idea took hold. From this group came the idea of a West Sussex Branch of Winston’s Wish, which launches this autumn.
Winston’s Wish is a national charity that helps bereaved children and young people rebuild their lives after a family death. Every year we help over 13,000 children, young people and their families through practical support and guidance to families, professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child. Our headquarters are based in Gloucestershire and our services include a national helpline, 0845 20 30 40 5 and interactive website www.winstonswish.org.uk We also have a specific range of resources and support programmes for schools.
This year sees the launch of Winston's Wish West Sussex and from 2007 we will be offering face-to-face support to bereaved families through individual and group work as well as a residential weekend designed to encourage remembering and moving forward in a positive environment.
The Countess of March and Kinrara, President of Winston’s Wish, is spearheading this new venture in West Sussex. Janet March was bereaved as a child and is passionate about supporting children in this situation. We are launching our appeal for funding with a Family Fun Day at Goodwood Motor Circuit in June in addition to a whole host of other fundraising initiatives in schools and local organisations with a view to the Service being fully operational by 2007.
