What a beautiful city Verona is. Mark, Danny and myself ambled our way around the cobbled streets stopping for quite simply the best cappucino. Today is kind of a day off, although the intention is to fly down to Naples to make an appearance at the FESTIVAL BAR, an outdoor TV special which is traditionally chaotic, here's what happened...

Mark in awe of some of the ancient architecture in Verona
A mad day...We flew into Naples and because of the sheer numbers of people heading for the Festival Bar show, the town was gridlocked so a police escort was required. We've had police escorts before but I have to admit this one was laced with adrenaline. The speed and skill with which those police bikers manage to get 5 Mercedes limos through town without killing innocent bystanders is incredible. Especially when you consider the way poeple drive down here, ie. with absolutely no care or consideration for other drivers OR police. Annie, Emmylou's make-up lady was probably most shaken up as she was attempting to do Emmy's make up during 'Mr/ Toad's wild ride'. We arrived safely at the venue, how I don't know, and went straight onstage for a soundcheck and then back in the wild cars for a much tamer drive up the hill to the hotel Parkers.

View from hotel balcony with Mount Vesuvius and the bay of Napoli. Then it was back in the cars after sampling a Napolitan Pizza at 8:30 to the gig for onstage time at 9:20. Amazingly, we got onstage before midnight and made our 10:45 slot back to Verona.
