26th June - Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Thank goodness there are still beautiful venues like this one still standing. From the front the Orpheum theatre in Minneapolis doesn't look all that big but it's a bit of a tardis inside. A lovely theatre and one which we relished after the challenges of the show last night. Checking out of the Peninsula in Chicago, it was nothing more than a short hop over to Minneapolis on the magic carpet. Another familiar backstage area. The 7:30pm showtime was slightly optimistic but the room soon filled and we took to the stage at a quarter to eight. I can't possibly over emphasise how different this was from last night; the band could hear each other which is always a good start. Fabulous renditions of Emmylou's tunes plus great stuff from MK tonight. At one point during the show emmylou mentions what a pleasure it is to be in this band and tonight she added "this sure makes up for high school" a sentiment which is echoed throughout the band.. A runner back to the plane and the longest internal flight of the tour to the west coast. Unbelievably we're in the hotel in LA at 12:30am ready for another day off before the final 3 shows.

Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in bidding for the charity uke.
