8th June - Codroipo Villa Manin (nr. Pordenone) Open Air
Today's day trip from Rome took us to the far Nort-Eastern corner of Italy, near Udine. We flew into Trieste and headed North west towards Pordenone and the small town of Codroipo. A thoroughly beautiful drive through delightful countryside brought us to this amazing site. The Villa Manin is the family residence of Ludovico Manin, the last doge the Venecian Republic. For a thousand years the chief magistrate or leader of Venice was styled the Doge, a rare but not uniquely Italian title. The villa is also used as a museum of contemporary art.

No sound check once again for us and we watched as the lawns slowly filled. Danny and I made the best use of the surroundings and did a few interviews for the diaries. We grabbed Mike Humuniuk (lights, photography) and Chris Moulson, the backline bus driver. we also had a tour of the bus the Chris drives. Very cool.

The mozzies are back!
Our farewell show for Italy was pretty wonderful, the usual contingent of disrespectful filmers but overall a great evening and thankfully the rain stayed away.

"Arrivederci Italia, grazie per il tempo meraviglioso."
